Carlos E. Puig MD, F.A.C.O.G.

Dr. Puig was born and raised in Reynosa, Mexico.  He immigrated to the United States at the age of 13 and displayed an interest in science and medicine from an early age. 

He graduated as Valedictorian from McAllen High School and attended St. Mary’s University and Texas A &M University where he completed undergraduate Degrees in Biology and Chemistry.  After that, he attended Medical School at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas. 

During his first residency in family medicine, he developed an interest in Obstetrics and Gynecology because it was a specialty where he could care for patients of all ages, could continue to provide primary care, and he could provide medical care in the operating room and the clinic setting. 

Dr Puig completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Lyndon Baines Johnson program and has been in private practice in McAllen, Texas since 2010.  

He is a Board-Certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist and a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.  He has an interest in high-risk obstetrics and minimally invasive gynecological surgery and has cared for thousands of patients in the Rio Grande Valley. 

Dr. Puig is an advocate of women’s health and continues to support this cause through multiple charity events and health fairs. 

In his free time, he enjoys traveling, cooking, football, the beach, and spending time with family and friends.

Silvia G. De La Rosa FNP-BC

Silvia was born in Reynosa, Tamaulipas, Mexico. At the age of two her family moved to McAllen, Texas, where she was raised.

In 2003 she graduated from McAllen Memorial high school with a license as a Certified Nursing Assistant.

In 2006 she obtained her Medical Assistant Certificate from San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants. Silvia then got her associate Degree in Nursing from South Texas College in 2011.

She then obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Texas Arlington in 2016. As a registered nurse, she worked in the telemetry/stepdown unit at Mission Regional Medical Center for 8 years.

In 2020, she graduated from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley with a Master’s in Nursing and became Board Certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. 

Silvia is married, has three children and one dog. She enjoys reading, crafting, and spending time with her family and friends. She loves taking road trips with her family.
